No. There are dozens of studies out there that have been as far from scientific as you can get. One of my sister-in-law's has the short index fingers. Guess what? She's straight. My index and ring fingers are the same length. I'm gay.

I've read several of these studies, and while I think its not exactly a "myth " per se ... it seems there is so much overlap that its not exactly an unconditional truth either.

It's definitely nonsense.

On my right hand (like the illustrations), my index finger is the shorter of the two. On my left hand, they're about the same length. I'm left-handed. And gay. Conclusion: No conclusion.

I heard this a while back and I knew it was a load of bollocks, but I was still compelled to check. Lo and behold my index finger is shorter than my ring finger.

The theory is about the in utero hormonal levels... presence of testosterone causes a lengthening of the ring finger in the fetus. It has been theorized as a link to brain gender and not sexual orientation as far as i know. Still a theory and not well supported.

It's a silly ignorant myth. My mom tried telling me that crap.
