Language learning methods, the best and most effective way to master a foreign language.
Languages learning: what is the most effective way?
Do you want to learn the ABC's of learning a new language? You just stumbled upon one of the few guide sites that encourage you to GET THE FACTS.
I am not a linguist, a professional translator but someone passionate in foreign languages who want to share her passion. I speak seven different languages and a lot of people keep asking me my “secret”. If you want to know more about me and contact me click here.
I am fully fluent in 4 languages French-Creole-English-Spanish and can understand and read Italian, Portuguese and German as the same level as my native languages, I am unable to maintain a regular, fluent conversation in these languages. It's why I say that I am not fully fluent in these last 3 languages.
I am going to be transparent on this website; I don’t have any e-books to sell, any “secret” to reveal on how to master a new language overnight, but I do have some knowledge to share about language learning … I have tangible results in my life.
People ask me a lot of questions in a daily basis about my languages skills. Now, I just have to give them the address of my website. My website is a guide for every language (or languages) learner. You will find useful information from a polyglot.
Is this normal - question about language learning?
When I listen to a Spanish documentary or news show or commercials, I understand most of it... more than 90 %, but when I watch something where there is a dialogue going on sometimes it sounds like they are talking too fast for me or mumbling especially teen shows .
German and French language learning books?
I got like 6 months free time, which is awesome.I want to learn either German or French I want to be able to make simple conversations, or at least to understand the other side .I used to talk with some german friends to get the overall idea, german doesn't seem like a hard language to me, I learned some basic words and sentences from them, some of my pronounciations were off but that's ok, I used to have hard time with English pronounciations as well.. On contrary.. French seems quite hard, the writing and reading is all different than what I'm used to, not to mention the accent which is also a lot different basically it means that French is probably going to give me some hard time. basically, I find German a lot closer to English than French Anyway, just suggest the best books you guys know of, I'm eager to learn something new.Oh and I also came across a site called byki.com, I will look at their programs and maybe buy a software to support the book. diction and vocabulary for the most doesn't have to be from that site tho, I will make a search for a suitable program. Thanks in advance Oh.. Rosetta Stone.. I used to have that program on my old pc, I can definatly use it.That covers the software issue, but the book question remains I need a book suggestion as I'm not always near a computer.
What do you think of my idea for a new language learning website?
I get tired of the boring memorization and grammar websites or programs that are out there. I think learning should fun and interesting. Basically I want to emulate how I teach English class to my Korean class with interactive games. I was thinking about starting off with what I know which is Korean. I would make some of the beginning lessons free, and a few parts of the more advanced lessons. And then charge for further access. The only issue is that I have no experience with website design or programming. How much time, money, and effort do you think will take to make it successful. And do you think it has a chance of being successful.

Okay so I am going back to Vietnam this December after 5 years and I am Vietnamese born in the u.s. I rarely speak Vietnam at home but always speak in English so after years my vietnamese has kinda slowly going away. I can say little, like i won't remember words like sun, car or something like that but when someone talk a to me I understand them clearly and respond back in English. I was just wondering what is a good product to help me learn the language? Like something with a voice to help me hear the pronunciation of the word. Rosetta stone is very pricey Anything affordable just give me any ideasI really need a program with a voice So I can hear it pronouncing it is really hard in another language
What is the best language-learning program out there?
I have been reading up a lot on language programs, such as Rosetta Stone and Tell Me More. If you have actually experienced a language learning program or multiple , which program s was were it they, and what are your many opinions on it them? Please be honest I do not want to waste any money on something that is just going to be a waste of time and space. Also, if you work for any of these programs, please don't answer I want REAL answers from actual, unbiased at least to an extent users. Thank you for your time

Language learning help?
i'm currently on my year abroad, have just spent 7 months in france, as a teaching assistant, and am now in russia, in order to improve my russian. I feel however that my french is not as good as it could should be for final year. Is there anything anyone can suggest that will help me improve other then just reading listening to watching as much French as possible ? and roughly how much time per week should i set aside for this I'm finding it hard balance the 2 languages out my russian is a lot weaker than my french, so I need to put a lot of time into that, but at the same time i don't want to neglect my french... ANY pointers would be muchly appreciated
