language learningLanguages learning: what is the most effective way?

Do you want to learn the ABC's of learning a new language? You just stumbled upon one of the few guide sites that encourage you to GET THE FACTS.

I am not a linguist, a professional translator but someone passionate in foreign languages who want to share her passion. I speak seven different languages and a lot of people keep asking me my “secret”. If you want to know more about me and contact me click here.

I am fully fluent in 4 languages French-Creole-English-Spanish and can understand and read Italian, Portuguese and German as the same level as my native languages, I am unable to maintain a regular, fluent conversation in these languages. It's why I say that I am not fully fluent in these last 3 languages.

I am going to be transparent on this website; I don’t have any e-books to sell, any “secret” to reveal on how to master a new language overnight, but I do have some knowledge to share about language learning … I have tangible results in my life.

People ask me a lot of questions in a daily basis about my languages skills. Now, I just have to give them the address of my website. My website is a guide for every language (or languages) learner. You will find useful information from a polyglot.

What are some free and effective language learning services that I can attain?
As of now I'm a 8th grader turning 9th and I already took two years of Spanish passing one of my A G requirements . I am not planning to take Spanish for Spanish speakers in 9th because my academic plan is to take AP spanish my school doesn't offer 9th ap later in High School. As many of you may know the traditional classroom has many limitations less than perfect teachers though they try their best, disruptive students, and curricular emphasis on core subjects by the schools and districts all of which I had experienced. My concern is that all of these limitations may make AP spanish very difficult for me and will give me an even more difficult time with the CL EP and AP exams. I can't afford the outside classes or tutoring, but I found some really good websites although many have premium plans . A summer opportunity could be really enriching for me free of course though abroad would be cool and I like camps. Maybe you guys could suggest very good free Spanish learning websites. Free tutoring is probably an impossibity. My main goal is to get an A on the AP class maybe even get an A on the Spanish Literature AP and perfects on the AP,Cl EP and SAT ll Spanish test.

What books/ language learning programs can I use to become fluent in Spanish?
I used to be fluent in Spanish about 9 years ago it was actually my first language but when I moved to the states I ended up forgetting pretty much all of it and I would like to become fluent again without having to take classes. I already took Spanish I and I understand more than I can speak. What are the best books programs I can use to become fluent again? Thanks.I tried Rosetta Stone and it wasn't really working, not to mention it's a little expensive. I'm looking for a method that won't cost too much and doesn't involve me having to travel anywhere. Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate it

What do you think of my idea for a new language learning website?
I get tired of the boring memorization and grammar websites or programs that are out there. I think learning should fun and interesting. Basically I want to emulate how I teach English class to my Korean class with interactive games. I was thinking about starting off with what I know which is Korean. I would make some of the beginning lessons free, and a few parts of the more advanced lessons. And then charge for further access. The only issue is that I have no experience with website design or programming. How much time, money, and effort do you think will take to make it successful. And do you think it has a chance of being successful.

What is the best language-learning program out there?
I have been reading up a lot on language programs, such as Rosetta Stone and Tell Me More. If you have actually experienced a language learning program or multiple , which program s was were it they, and what are your many opinions on it them? Please be honest I do not want to waste any money on something that is just going to be a waste of time and space. Also, if you work for any of these programs, please don't answer I want REAL answers from actual, unbiased at least to an extent users. Thank you for your time

Language learning plans????
I am a 14 year old Brazilian boy and I have a big interest in learning as many languages as I can. Portuguese is my native language and I started learning English three years ago. Right now I am learning Japanese and French because I will live in Japan for one year next year and I simply just love how French sounds. So my plan is Learn Japanese until July 2012. After coming back from Japan, study French for real. Start studying Spanish in 2015 at the maximum. And maybe after finishing studying Spanish I can study Italian so I can get my Italian citizenship my grandfather is Italian .Do you think this is a realistic plan? I mean, Japanese is gonna be hard to learn but i am going to live there so there isn't much problem, Spanish is like a Portuguese with accent, and French is not that hard and I study it at school. The only problem is Italian, do you think I will be too old to learn it?Please tell me what you think about it .

Language learning software...?
Hey, I am learning French and German right now, and I'm farther along in French. I have decided I am going to start learning with a language software. I tried the 1st free Pimsleur course thing and it was pretty helpful even though I already knew everything, but, there isn't any written material I'm a visual learner . Is there any language learning software that is as good or almost as good as Pimsleur but has written material? And how advanced do the things it teaches get? Thanks
