Why do sign language interpreters not like being corrected?
I corrected the interpreter today and she refused to accept she was wrong. She said, well .. I know deaf who sign the same. I was like, its still wrong. She did not like the fact that the sign for " negative" is in reference to math, the negative symbol not a negative feeling. The sign for " bad" is a more accurate use for a negative feeling in ASL.Criticism is not answering the question. If you are here to just criticize then go elsewhere.I am using " interpreter" in the plural as I have more then one interpreter. I am not generalizing and saying every single interpreter that exists.
