Who decided which words in the english language, are "bad words"?
When I was a kid there was a family down the street who's house I went to one night for dinner. I was surprised by that the kids on several occasions, used " bad words" , right in front of their parents. Upon inquiring about this, it wasn't that their parents allowed them to talk trash. They were allowed to say what someone else had said, in order to tell people, what exactly someone said.I know that the Bible says that we should put away vain and corrupt communication, but who exactly gets to decide what is vain and corrupt? In my over a decade of Biblical research, even back into the original languages the Bible was written in, I have never found specific instruction of what specific words we are not allowed to use. What I have found, is that literally thousands of the most popular teachings about the Bible, and The God in it, taught from behind pulpits, are not what it is teaching. I have also found that these thousands of things have been rooted into society's thinking about God and the Bible, for centuries. It gets me to thinking that maybe part of the vain and corrupt communication it is talking about that we should avoid, is people making up their own distinctions and versions of the truth of the evidence of the scripture. These things tend to result in mass misunderstanding, and a bunch of useless and purposeless rules, that almost nobody even really wants to follow anyway. It seems to be utterly responsible for why the Bible is so hard to understand, and even why so many people would refuse to believe it. Can anybody show me where the Bible says I absolute should, never, use any specific " bad words" in our language? I 'm not going to talk like that when public speaking or anything like that, its about freedom, not making God look bad, even to people with pointless and corrupt rules of men, but until someone can show me in the Bible, by its own rightly and fully understood evidence. I say, " uck that, I'm using them." The " f" word does not really seem to be corrupt, it very much means something. An action that people, very much indeed, do. Most, as often as they can find allowance for it. Its not vain either. In fact it is one of the most versatile words in our language. You can use it as a noun, an adjective, a verb, and pretty much every other use. I understand that these words, can be used in a vain or corrupt way, but they do not, " always" , seem to be.Reagurding you answers. I liked George Calson as a commedian. Truthfully, even as an athiest he brought up a lot of valid points about people don't really think about. Jesus Christ was better at it, but I liked him. One think I don't even remember being said about me before, is that, I " think too much to be a Christian" . You might be suprized just how much real life thinking is supposed to be involved in true Christianity, but isn't in society's version of it.
