I want to give a very short and quick review of the book: Why You Need a Foreign Language & How to Learn One by Edward Trimnell.

This book expose all the mistaken assumptions, the myth that Americans entertain about foreign languages. They assume that "everyone in the world is learning English" so they come up with the conclusion that it's not necessary to learn another language. The author expose the implications of American monolingualism in the social,commercial, politic areas. With new economic and new politics trends, Americans need to have languages skills.

The second part of the book deals with learning a foreign language and contains useful tips for languages learners.
